GERMANY - NORTHERN

In Germany the Divine Word Missionaries have two provinces: the Northern German Province (to which belongs also the foundation house in Steyl in the Netherlands) and the Southern German Province.

Within the German local Church the Divine Word Missionaries see their task as being in the service of the worldwide task of the congregation. In doing so they use the already existing structures and institutions which developed in the course of the relatively long history of the two provinces. According to the changed situation in church and society they try to give a new orientation to the existing tasks and apostolates (for instance formation, Media, schools, missionary animation).
